How this assistant will work
What it will look at
Muhurta is the part of Jyotisha that chooses a time to begin something. The assistant is being built to check a proposed date the way a muhurta astrologer starts: with the five limbs of the panchanga, then the person's own birth star, then the rising sign at the chosen moment.
- The panchanga for the day: tithi (lunar day), vara (weekday), nakshatra, yoga and karana, and which of them the tradition favours for the event in question.
- Tarabala: the count from your birth star to the day's nakshatra, which separates supportive stars from ones to avoid.
- Chandrabala: the Moon's sign that day counted from your natal Moon sign.
- The lagna at the chosen hour, with the houses that matter for the event kept free of afflictions where possible.
- Periods many traditions avoid, such as Rahu kaal, and the event-specific rules for marriage, griha pravesh, travel, starting a business or naming a child.
How it will answer
It will explain why a time is or is not supported, factor by factor, and offer the alternatives a family can weigh. Regional calendars and family customs differ, so it will say where a local priest or family astrologer may follow a different rule, and it will never replace the person who will perform a ritual.
- It will not claim that a muhurta makes an outcome certain.
- It will not promise that something will or will not happen, will not sell gems, pujas or other remedies, and will not give medical, legal or financial advice.
